Police have released the identity of the 20-year-old man who tragically lost his life in a violent crash, while his passenger remains in critical condition. The incident occurred on Monday, July 3, at approximately 11:40 p.m. along Route 1 (1420 West Boston Post Road) in Mamaroneck.
Victim’s Identity and Condition of the Passenger
The driver, Anthony Diosdado, 20, hailing from New Rochelle, was fatally injured in the crash. The passenger, Andy Romeo Fuentes, 18, also a resident of New Rochelle, is currently in critical condition at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, according to Capt. James Maher from the Town of Mamaroneck Police.
Details of the Crash and Rescue Operation
Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers discovered that the vehicle had veered off the roadway, colliding with a light pole, tree, and ultimately the side of a building. The car came to a rest on its driver’s side.
Both individuals had to be extricated from the vehicle with the assistance of the town of Mamaroneck Fire Department and Larchmont Volunteer Ambulance Corps, as shared by Capt. James Maher.
